Ken Hart, a University of Idaho agricultural extension agent in Lewis County, says farmers in the region are eager for rain on their crops because their grain is beginning to show stress from the dry weather.

A 64-year-old Nezperce man died in a farming accident Thursday. According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, a call came in around 11:20 Thursday morning concerning a man injured in a farming equipment accident in a field on Powerline Road just outside of Nezperce.
